| Eve has discovered this thing called app-e-tite. It is a strange entity to her, whilst she's always fed she's always been a fickle eater, taking little and often rather than gulping down vast quantities.
Lets just say her new milk has changed that. Where as before this last week she'd take maybe 40-60mls for breakfast on sufferance this morning she took 120. O.o I think the new formula may be something of a hit. Shame it's not even going to last us till tomorrow as she's been busy burning through it at a pace!
Oh well, time to slip in some ordinary formula plus infant gaviscon and hope she doesn't notice too much. >.>
Now, if we could just get this day/night and sleep routine thing sorted, everyone would be a lot happier! I at least got a few hours in last night before someone decided middle of the night was the ideal time to play. Ho hum. Being ill upset all her routines. I think she might have had something called 'silent reflux', all the nasty icky acid stuff, without projectile vomiting at every feed. Good, in the sense that I didn't have to clean up every feed, bad in the sense that it's not easy to diagnose. But the change in her is palpable.

| Home. Dry. Dry is important, Wales was very very wet. Which given the parking for our cottage was 100 yards away and up a steep hill meant that carting a baby to and from it was an exercise in pain with my knee playing up and all. Speaking of which I have to make an appointment with the physioterrorists now I'm home!
But Wales! Needless to say Richard's party was one filled with interesting characters, a good time and even some good food. Mostly cooked by Andrew! :P The house this time worked out remarkably well, and I'm already debating other ways to use it. It sleeps up to 25, has three good socialising rooms, a great dining room and a kitchen I am more than happy to cook in. What more do we need! There was the vague toying with the idea of a Brighthelm weekend there, as it's not too pricey either. 1500 quid (divided by up to 25 remember) for a 3 night stay, heating etc included.
Eve was well behaved for the party, though we think she's currently on a growth spurt and so demanding food more often than usual. It was good to see everyone again, even if the fact that Kate's sister Elizabeth has an almost identical voice to her, which was a little bizarre at times. And there was much champagne. The house drowned in it. Well, mostly they all drank it, I believe we ran out by 9pm on Saturday night! But fear not, there was plenty of other booze to be had.
I committed an epic fail on my part, there were no left overs of the French buffet I made on Saturday night for Sunday lunch, which was a slight oops. Still, with people going off castle exploring it wasn't too much of an issue as there was other stuff that could be consumed. And of course there was also an expedition to Aberkhan's on Saturday morning for the fabric interested types. We stuck with visiting my parents on Sunday for lunch, having spent plenty of time in Cheshire previously and explored all the castles then.
As usual it is good to be home, though I have to get used to doing baby night shift again, as Tom was most definitely delegated that task whilst we were away! | |

| 1:30am, and after a night of deep sleeping Eve wants to be awake.
Can someone tell her we need to drive to Wales today and that I need some sleep please!

| You know, I escaped labour with very little pain, but life has sure been making an attempt to get back at me for that one. The other morning I stubbed my toe in the middle of the night changing Eve, and it's now infected. Not so bad, you might think? Except this morning my foot slipped on the carpet of the stairs, whilst of course I was carrying Eve. Baby managed to stay put in arms, I fell. Well, one leg fell with my body, the other got doubled back. My knee is now not happy in the slightest. I can walk, just about. All baby stuff has been moved downstairs for the day, so no shuffling up and down carrying small crying thing. This was not what I needed, especially as Tom got called in to work an extra shift today so I'm on my own.
Eve also has candida, I'm hoping that's our three, coz I could really do without anything else buggered up.
On a vaguely positive note Eve weighed 5lb 15oz yesterday and is now going a little longer between her feeds. So it seems I can feed a baby as well as a husband. Also as we've stopped breastfeeding entirely now due to the candida I can take the uber painkillers today. Hurrah!
